Workshops

My workshops feature projects in which techniques, tips and tricks are learned.  Workshops are not only educational, but are also about having fun and getting to meet people with similar interests. Confidence building instruction, mixed with great attention to detail, adds-up to a great classroom experience for those who sign up for my classes! Workshops in machine quilting and quilt construction are offered.

Longarm

I can custom quilt those quilt tops you always wanted to finish at affordable prices, and in a timely manner. I have successfully custom-quilted many quilts since I added longarm quilting to my business. Contact me to make an appointment.   Remember, it is not a quilt unless it is quilted!

Patterns

Artelas Quilts Patterns provide clear and easy to follow instructions designed to encourage individuality, creativity, and motivation. There are many ways to construct a design and Artelas patterns will get you there in a very easy and straight forward manner.  New patterns are added frequently.

What My Students and Customers are Saying

Nelly, Feathers scared me, now I look at them differently, especially in the small squares.  Wonderful lesson. Looking forward to more!

Eleanor

Audrey

Paula

Nelly, you quilted a Dresden Plate quilt for me and I wanted to share with you how pleased I am with your work. I really really like it. Thank you so much.

Hellen
I just want you to know I loved your class. I have made 2 more quilts from your pattern too. I can’t get to Fredricksburg, but I wanted you to know how much I enjoyed your class in Baltimore. You are the best quilt teacher I have had.
Summer
Nelly, I would like to say I loved your classes I took last year! I am so bummed I will not be able to attend this year because of my work schedule. Please keep me in your email list as I would love to take another class with you. Thank you.
Britt
I just wanted to say thank you. Several years ago, I took one of your classes in Schaumburg, IL and your teaching method for doing feathers finally penetrated my head and I have been doing feathers a lot now. Thank you so much for your patient and creative way of teaching how to do feathers.
Betty

Thank you for coming to Port Charlotte and for the wonderful instruction. Thank you also for the lecture today. You are a joy and we are blessed that you shared your vision which proves to be so inspiring.

Thank you, Nelly for three excellent classes at the 2016 OSQE at the IX Center. I appreciated the organized material presented in fun-loving manner. Feathers: Use Them Everywhere – You gave me greater appreciation for marking sections within a design so that all parts fit together. I had not graduated to that thinking in terms of feathers before. And having an idea of where to put what in a quilt gave me food for thought for my future quilts. Thank you, again. Great classes and classy teacher!

Nelly is THE most artistic quilt designer I have ever met. Her quilts are fascinating, beautiful, clever, and in the cases of classes she teaches: much easier to do than one might think! Her blog and posts and hints-n-tips are well worth the time to read. And her classes are fun! Can you tell I am a big fan?! So very nice to know you, Nelly!

Nelly,
I just want to thank you for a class you taught in Schaumburg Il maybe in 2016. My journey with quilting was just beginning and I was at a very fragile time in my life. Your passion and attention ignited a new hobby and interest for me at the perfect time.  So, thank you for your time and attention. You made a difference for me
Sally.
Nelly, the “Quilting in the Modern Aesthetic” class last Friday evening at the 2015 Cleveland OSQE was fantastic!!! I have more knowledge and confidence for quilting some current projects including a few from other Expo classes and my “Flower Seeds” from Lake Farmpark. You are the BEST!!!
